Curtis Blakely & Co., PC is a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. We have experience performing audits of many types of employee benefit plans (EBP), including 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and profit-sharing plans.

EBP audits ensure the financial integrity of benefit and retirement plans and are required by the Department of Labor (DOL) for plans with more than 100 eligible participants. The DOL strictly enforces a complex set of standards and may assess penalties for incomplete, inaccurate, or late reporting that will negatively impact your bottom line. EBP’s are also subject to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations. 

Our EBP audit team has the experience to ensure your audit is performed in accordance with accepted DOL auditing standards and to meet ERISA requirements. We apply the same risk-based approach as we do with other audits, however, due to the unique nature of EBP’s, our audit procedures are a highly specialized combination of financial statement and compliance audits.

We can also assist in reviewing, preparing, and filing your annually required ERISA Form 5500 to report on your EBP’s financial condition, investments, and operations.
